Fast and Easy, Calorie-free Sweetened Iced Tea PDF Print E-mail
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
  • 4 tea bags or 1-2 tablespoon loose tea in a ball
  • stevia--either liquid or powder (stevia is a vegan sugar substitute)
  • water
  • 4 cup ice
  • citrus slices optional
Directions:

1.) Bring 6 ounces of water to a boil in the microwave and your favorite micro-safe mug.

2.) *Plop in your tea and cover with a saucer for 5 minutes or longer depending on depth of flavor desired (*be careful plopping, because sometimes after the water has "settled", it may still boil up once you add the tea-- anyone else ever experienced this???)

3.)Place ice in a 2 quart pitcher

4.)WAIT...ho hum...

5.)Carefully remove saucer and tea bags, pressing excess liquid back into the mug.

6.)Pour tea over ice and add water and *stevia* ***WHOA, Buddy, this stuff is super-duper SWEEEET! So ease up on it, add it slowly to your liking.

Also...As I know my opinion counts to EVERYONE, I must add this note: I prefer stevia liquid to powder, the liquid has a nice licorice flavor and the powder tastes nearly vegan sugar twinnish--blech! Also, I think I've snorted much too much of the stuff and dislike it's seemingly undissolvability--is that a word?

Serves: 4+ depending on how tall your ice tea glasses are

Preparation time: 10 minutes, mostly waiting, sigh
